Why our gardener is coming on a Saturday morning when I am relaxing reading my newspapers in my sunroom?

After a long week I do not need to hear the sound of a  tm lawn mower at 9.30 am on a Saturday morning.

I have to speak to wifey.

Chiefsta, if I were you, I'd stay put!  Suppose she fire the lawn boy and chain the mower to you!

AJ, you like someone  me know.  He hide his golf clubs in the shed and sneak out, by pushing the car  a distance.

He also turn off he cell phone and say, he had it off not to disturb the sleeping children and forgot to turn it on again.

I just photographed a golf tournament and discovered a new sound. The  empty rattling beer bottles in the golf bag.

15 pounds !!  Like you hold up the retaining wall all by you self.

Our house and yard are completed, only routine lawn and garden work, with beautiful apple, pine  and plum trees.

You lucky the lawn boy comes when you are at home, get worried when the lawn is cut too often and you never see the stud.

Tola,

I ride bikes and I prefer the GYM.

Just jiving you Chief, me know you stay healthy.

I also go to senior aerobics three times weekly, but I am not sure whether I go for the exercise, or to watch dem sexy sweaty women in tights.

Occasionally, I am asked why I stay in the back of the room. My reply : The view is better from here. A good practical joking bunch of women, that makes for a good  day and serious as hell about  their exercise.

I didnt golf today, thinking it would rain but it also get me outta the lawn cutting

The best golf story was when we finished playing one day and my buddy started to take a shower in the parking lot.  He wanted to get rid of grass on him because the wifie does examine him to see if he went golfing instead of work.

This sound a little funny, like the two of you were doing something else on the golf course.

Some of my buddies used to go to DR like 4 times per month and the excuse to their wife was golf.

I don't care to do yard work. Nearly two decades ago, a landscape guy offered to cut my grass and he or whoever has taken over that company has been doing it almost like clockwork every two weeks since even though I moved to a new place back in 2002.

Now my damn neighbor next door is outside every weekend making a ton of noise with his mower. I always wonder why he is not inside his house keeping his wife occupied.

I take pride doing my yard work. I strive to keep my yard the best looking in the neighborhood. It's always well trimmed and green(lots of watering) until late fall.

Skelly, I now don't spend a lot of time doing yard work. We used to have a 60 x 24 feet veggy garden, but now we have a small flower garden in front, with two beautiful pine trees, still growing at 10 feet and a 6x32 feet  veggy plot, in the sun behind the house..

Our lawn is like yours. One reason,  I don't cut the grass short, because they can dry and get brown easily. I cut them long and leave dem spongy and cut it often.  I also water often, mostly in the evenings so they stay cool overnight  and it stays beautifully green all summer.

Before winter, I leave it to grown long and mulch it in the spring when its dry. The mulch stays on the lawn.

I don't treat the lawn with anything. We had two beautiful white birch trees in front and the neighbour suggested that I use weed and feed to kill dandelions, it also kill all broad leaf plants, including the white birch.

A lawn can be made to look nice, without using chemicals and fertilizers.   .

Tola & Skelly, I water early in the morning to prevent fungus. I use a digger and a bucket for the weeds. Weed & Feed is banned here.

Mits, watering in the evenings with no sun in the day, can cause moss in this area ?  How do I get rid of the moss ?

Me also used to use a digger, but dem dandelion flower blow to my lawn from next door.

Watering in the evening can encourage moss. Water in the mornings so that when sun comes up it will evaporate the moisture. Moss loves dampness. Water the grass only when you it is dry. Use 4 ounces of dish soap per 2 gallons of water for each 1,000 square feet of lawn to get rid of the moss. Rake it when you see it yellow or brown.

I keep my grass about 2 1/2 inches. I water at night. I use milorganite for fertilizer. It's not hazardous to the environment.
