Dominican officials seize nearly half a million dollars from JetBlue employee

Authorities in the Dominican Republic say they have arrested a JetBlue employee who was carrying nearly half a million dollars at an airport.

The Specialized Agency in Airport Security says the US citizen, John Michael Dominguez, was carrying $477,000 when he flew in from New York early on Saturday as a passenger and tried to pass through security at the Cibao International Airport, the country's third busiest airport.

Officials say they are trying to determine where the money came from.

JetBlue officials did not immediately return calls for comment.
