BREAKING NEWS: Donald Ramotar accepts PM post in coalition govt

April 1, 2016 | By | Filed Under News

As we inch closer to the 50th Independence anniversary, in a surprise move President

President David Granger and former President Donald Ramotar.

David Granger announced that former President Donald Ramotar is joining the coalition government.
Never before in the history of Guyana has people from the top three political parties joined forces in Guyana.  Just prior to last year’s elections, APNU and AFC formed a coalition then won narrowly the elections.
Now, in a historic move by a sitting President, David Granger has announced that Ramotar has joined the coalition. His joining came after he accepted the office of Prime Minister in a Cabinet to be revamped.
Details have not been released as yet, but are expected to be known within days.  Early indications are that Moses Nagamootoo has agreed to be an associate to the Finance Minister and a Presidential Advisor.
There are others who have been approached by the coalition but only two have accepted the invitation. They are Clement Rohee, and Carolyn Rodrigues.
Rohee is being considered to oversee the Police Department.
Carolyn Rodrigues would be working along with Foreign Minister Carl Greenidge.
Robert Persaud who made an approach for a position, was turned down.
When contacted for comments about this newly formed coalition, Khemraj Ramjattan said he was not briefed on any of these new developments.
He said it was the same thing with Brian Tiwarie and his Ministerial Advisor on Business.

This is great that President Granger is reaching out to the PPP.  If this turns out to be true, it's a positive bomb shell development in Guyana with generational consequences and I must congrat the President!!

I don't see any negatives here, unless this is just an "all fools" joke!!

The article left out the Jagdeo will be co-President on a rotating basis. Seriously.......an announcement will be made shortly.

Update:

A spokesperson from the President's office will officially break the news this afternoon. President Jagdeo is expected to make an official announcement today.

Officials are tight lipped on this development.

The joke is on anyone who believes this.

As soon as I saw that I suddenly remembered its April 1st.

This was confirmed when there was no mention of Jagdeo any where.

Some coolie and some blackman guh get heart attack seeing dis.

Were it true, the only person who will have a heart attack would be Jagdeo. He is no where listed, so this would mean a mass defection of the PPP to APNU.

As we can see the PM doesn't carry any real weight in Guyana.

We know, not in this government. So is Vice President.  That's the reason everyone was promised a position as vice president. Maybe every Guyanese should be given the title as VP. They all would be happy.

BJ doesn't want any position in a coalition government.  He is happy to retire and go and lay down on a beach somewhere with a hot chick!!!!

BJ is screaming and wailing about all the niggindians who left him to go drink "blackman milk".  Seems that he didn't consolidate the East Indian base after all.

BTW Nagga and Ramjattan are also wailing about how "PNC so corrupt dat dey jine up wid de PPP to kick dem out".

Further rumors are that a new party will be formed with Nagga the head, assisted by Jagdeo!

who...Kwame?

Bhai aren't you supposed to be the Admin setting the standards here?

What standards are you wailing about.  They didn't report the big brawl between Bobby and Kwame over Jaggy.

the current state of politics in Guyana and the USA is so ripe for the funniest of April Fools' jokes. My sis just tried one about Trump pulling out of the race.... But If only that were true. *sigh*

I want Trump to be the GOP candidate.

Even white men don't like him any more, so that will be easy pickings for Hillary.
