DPP recommends no charges against Ashni Singh

In relation to the vehicular accident involving the Minister of Finance Dr. Ashni Singh, on February 23, the Guyana Police Force today said that legal advice has been obtained from the Director of Public Prosecutions that no charge be instituted since the affected parties, Jageshwar Hira and his passenger, Parbattie Shivcharan,, have stated that they no longer wish to pursue the matter.

You obviously do not understand how the law works. If the people in the accident decide to settle any liability, then that's fine, there will be no civil action taken in court.

However, if a drunken fool drives his car in a dangerous manner, runs through a stop sign and crashes into someone else, then he should be charged with dangerous driving and also leaving the scene of an accident as in this case. Settling a case between the injured parties does not absolve the guilty party from being charged with criminal behavior.

Stupidee Punce, the police can still charge the man with a criminal offence. It is not up to victims in the accident to decide.

There is one set of laws for the PPP elites and one set for all others.

Well said.

This matter is closed. Only foolish comments will  follow as a result of the opposition foolishness. There is NO PROOF for prosecution.

No disrespect, can you please post proof of criminal activity of this minister.

Where is your proof ?

If you have any, please post it.

I'll let you go first proving all the stuff you post

I see you run for cover since you have no proof.

Next time, post your proof before accusing a minister of Guyana as being a criminal.

It could lead to legal action against you.

He could no resist to expose his bias. And above all, accuse a minister of being a criminal with no proof.

You are making a fool of yourself. The DPP has no case. Case closed.

It happens all the time in the USA.

If you hit someone from behind you are at fault. If you ran a light and also hit them you are in deeper shit. If you did all of that and left the scene you incur even more jeapordy. Now what of all that you missed, knucklehead?
