President Donald Trump on Sunday looked to make clear that the United States is not at war with Islam in a major speech here on Sunday, instead defining the battle against terrorist groups as a "battle between good and evil."

In a departure from the Islamophobic rhetoric he sometimes deployed on the campaign trail, Trump spoke out against the militant, political ideology of "Islamist extremism." Trump's use of that term -- rather than "radical Islam" -- sends signals in this region that Trump is putting distance between Islam and the ideology that fuels terrorist groups like ISIS.
"This is not a battle between different faiths, different sects or different civilizations," Trump said. "This is a battle between barbaric criminals who seek to obliterate human life, and decent people of all religions who seek to protect it. This is a battle between good and evil."

This was actually a very good address. Hopefully the leaders in that truly beautiful hall look into their souls and take the necessary steps to clean up their countries and stifle terrorism. We all need a world free of terrorism. Even Muslims do.

He walked a tight rope and made it over.  He beat up on Iran, but wants action for Saudi, he will be watching for some favors returned!

He set Sunni against Shite. Really, who is gonna win. I like Trump, but he just gave the Saudie enough weapons to destroy themselves. Let us not forget, the muslims leff Arabia with only swords and turfed out Christendom from Syria all the way to Constantinople. And it will be by the sword again that the downtrodden retake Islam back to its barbaric genisis, through those who believe that concept of dominanace.

I do not agree with Kaz.

Terrorism committed by people with Muslim names makes up just 5% of the World terrorism, so said Trump, so what the fouck he preaching to Muslim leaders about. Why not address the other 95%?

You suffering a comprehension or hearing problem.  He never said that, he said 95% of victims of Islamic Terrorism are Muslims.  He was alluding to the fact that not all Muslims are terrorists.  He knew he was standing in the heart of the terrorist snake.  He said he is not there to lecture them, but gave them a good lecture anyway!  He beat up on Iran as a way to soften the blow to the terrorist House of Saud, but he was speaking to them.  He did not want to sound insulting in their own home but he got his message thru.

That Trump is one slick son of a gun!
