Those startup airlines to Guyana should charge only one way because they have a habit of not guaranteeing the return trip.

You know, right!

I have seen enough of them already brother. Suncoast Airlines still owe me my return fee for not bringing me back in 1988. I ended up having to but a one way ticket on Guyana Airways and even then had to wait about a month for a seat.

Why is high fare affecting the development of Guyana? Dr. Warria, please explain. Guyana is not a tourist destination.

This travel agent on Liberty Ave. want to book me on this Airline for August, but I flatly refused. Don't know of his airlines and I'm not going to take any chances. I'll fly Caribbean Airlines as usual where I know I'll go and come back on schedule.
Still remember those scary stories about Dynamic. Wonder how they doing these days

I had my fair share in the early days with Universal and Leisure Air. Never again. You live and learn. I remember that time when I reach Guyana and my suitcase them still in NY. I trip out and started cursing.
Now that the thought has come to my mind, would we ever get back our National carrier?

That price from Nohar Singh does not seem competitive if it is for an economy class ticket. These types of carriers have not been at all reliable. Maybe they work for some who can afford the uncertainty generally  associated with them. Some persons opt to travel into Guyana with them and leave via CA. Quite frankly, when traveling to and from Guyana I prefer to go with an airline with a fleet of aircraft and with a better reputation. I liked  Delta. I think too that Delta caused CA pull themselves up a bit. After they discontinued the Guyana route, I chose to stick with CA.

I think too it would be nice to get an indigenous National Carrier again. But it is also a very costly venture and requires the right skills.

I liked Guyana Airlines. In fact, I did not enjoy travelling on BWIA because it made too many stops. But then again, I have not travelled to Guyana since 1998 and don't intend to anytime soon.

They cancel two flights this week and place their passengers on Fly Jamaica.

The government should have it's own airline, most countries do, why not Guyana.

The only Caribbean govt's with their own airline are Suriname, Trinidad, Cayman, and the Bahamas.

The Bahamas needs it  because they are scattered islands.  Cayman needs it because it is a tourist destination. Even Suriname is now trying to get rid of theirs.

Jamaica doesn't. DR doesn't. Barbados doesn't.  So why should Guyana?
