The Essequibo Cricket Board (ECB) has shortlisted a squad of 20 players to commence preparation for the upcoming Guyana Cricket Board inter county U15 tournament which is expected commence once the inclement weather improves.
The players will commence encampment at the Essequibo Cricket Board Hostel at Anna Regina from next Friday to Sunday and will continue the following weekend before the final 14 is being selected. The players were drawn from the eight area committees and will be under the guidance of Coach Forbes Daniels and Manager Vickram Ramnarine. Those shortlisted are Ronaldo Scouten, Ryan Atkins, Mahendra Basdeo, Davindra Ramdahin, Ramesh Ramnarine, Ricky Persaud, Jarad Allicock, Shaheen Haniff, Kevin George, Raynard Ramroop, Adaish Ramdial, Steven Corbin, Anthony Deonarine, Dwayne Fredericks, Terrence Softliegh, Irfan Bradshaw, Avick Ramdial, Jonathan Lynch, Gladwyn J Twan and Komal Shaw. Manager Ramnarine said that their preparation is being hampered somewhat by the inclement weather so they will be looking closely at the players in the camp in order to arrive at the best possible squad. Ramnarine added the Essequibo U-15s will be looking to follow in the footsteps of their senior team who have won the GCB Jaguars three-day Franchise league and are leaders in 50 overs format at play-off stage.
