Well said Nehru.  The AFC was used a pawn to win the elections and now they are being used to carry out the dirty work of the PNC.  Moses and Ramjattan are so power hungry they cannot see beyond their noses.  Granger, Harmon, and Greenidge are manipulating them.  But not to worry.  They are digging their graves. I refer to a missive titled "Editorial" by someone who signed his name as Pandit Nehru.

The "Editorial" attacks Minister of Public Security Khemraj Ramjattan for making November 10 a national holiday. According to Pandit Nehru, the honourable minister's decision was "a purposeful, calculated and measured attempt to Divide (sic) and create distrust among Hindus." This is definitely a misreading of the minister's intent.

It must be noted that Minister Ramjattan proclaimed November 10 a national holiday with the consent of representatives of the following religious organizations: Sanatan Vaidic Dharma Pandits’ Sabhaa of Region 3 headed by Pandit Balbadar Pandit Chowbay; Par Upkaric Sabha in Essequibo; Pandit Rudranauth Sharma and Associates from the Guyana Pandits’ Council; Maha Sabha; Gandhi Youth Organisation; Cove & John Ashram; Swami Aksharananda; Pandit Prabhu Deo Sharma and others from the Corentyne; Pandit Dr. Budhindranath Doobay of the Federation of Hindu Temples and Priest in-charge of the Vishnu Mandir in Toronto; Pandit Rattan (Rajin) Balgobind, of the Hindu Society of Berbice.

Not for the next 30 years. The 2016 local government election will be the last one that Dr Steve Surujbally will preside over. Rohee's dream will come through and Surujbally will resign. After his resignation, President Granger will appoint current GECOM CEO Keith Lowenfield as Chairman. Lowenfield, an ex-army officer, will conduct the 2020 general elections. Don't fret over Nagamootoo and Ramjattan. Their roles in GECOM operations will be insignificant.

I couldn't lodge a stronger indictment on the government Gilly. I have no doubt that this government will return to the rigging ways of the old PNC. But that may be the least of their sins.
