Exxon set to begin public discussions on Guyana’s largest offshore project
ExxonMobil local affiliate Esso Exploration and Production Guyana Limited (EEPGL) is forging ahead with its fourth offshore project at the Stabroek Block, the largest to date, at the Yellowtail Development.
The company has since submitted the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) together with the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the project and will soon embark on a series of public awareness sessions across the new oil producing South American country.

The sessions are set begin on October 25 and will conclude on November 5.
Yellowtail will develop a much larger resource base than any of the previous developments at the ExxonMobil-operated Stabroek Block. It will be targeting 250,000 barrels of oil per day (bpd) at peak.
When the project comes online in 2025 it will add to the 120,000 bpd from Liza Phase 1, 220,000 bpd from Phase 2 of the Liza Development and 220,000 bpd from Payara, ramping up total production to more than 800,000 bpd.

The project will consist of the drilling of approximately 41 to 67 development wells (including production, water injection, and gas re-injection wells); installation and operation of Subsea, Umbilicals, Risers, and Flowlines equipment; installation and operation of a Floating Production, Storage, and Offloading (FPSO) vessel in the eastern half of the Stabroek Block.
