I hope ExxonMobil would monitor in detail how this money is spent. I don't like that mafia look on Trotman face. Or maybe he can give Ramjattan lil bit for his prison.
That garden hasn't looked so clean and inviting for the best part of 23 years.

So if the garden is already clean they should give the money to Ramjattan for his prison.

You all scream how brilliant the PPP was. So if Trotman does as Jagdeo did, pocket the money and build mansions then what is the problem. After all Jagdeo was a broke civil servant, before becoming president, and is now a multi millionaire. Trotman was a practicing lawyer so not broke prior to becoming a VP.

He will do that and more. His "crowd" is high maintenance and have expensive taste. I'm sure there are high expectations well beyond the lawyer or VP earning power!!
Lol. Does crowd = ladies????

If the PPP was corrupt, then why is it ok for Trotman to become corrupt...is this what you asking??
You ever hear the statement "2 wrongs dont make a right"?
Why you sound so bitter banna?...you letting this hatred clog your mind...you are smarter than this.

I suggest that you scroll through my posts and you will see that I think no better of APNU/AFC than I do of the PPP.
The PPP was around for 23 years, so that had to go. An incompetent and corrupt APNU will be easy to dislodge. I omit the AFC because seriously by 2020 I don't expect them to be a factor.
Your PPPites need to tell your Jagdeo to go tend to his money in India, and allow new leadership to emerge. People who are less obsessed with Indo supremacy.
Seriously the "Moses isn't an Indian" fire rage lost you all votes and led to a led to a HUGE turn out in G/town, Linden and Bartica, and I bet in the black villages on the coast.
VishMahabir posted:.If the PPP was corrupt, then why is it ok for Trotman to become corrupt....
Why not? Aren't the folks like you screaming that all of the PPP people who were fired were so great? Even though their corruption was well known?
That its only because they were Indians they were fired (ignoring of course that blacks were also dismissed, yes the FEW blacks who had top leadership slots under the PPP).
One would think that these folks were many of upstanding character, doing outstanding jobs, and making very positive contributions, blocked only because their hair doesn't snag a comb!
Well if the PPP did so well and were corrupt, why scream if the coalition sees fit?
Until there is proper reform in Guyana there will be no change. The onus is as much on the PPP, to admit their wrongs, as it is on APNU/AFC not to copy the worst of the PPP.
As of now APNU/AFC are packed with old men, who don't know how long they will be around, so feel the need to make up for the "lost" 23 years, and steal over the next 4 (and yes I hear some of them saying this, as many literally starved during that period in the wilderness).
After all if the PPP folks stole their way to wealth, why the shock that they feel that they should have the same right.
The PPP was tossed out and replaced by a very mediocre brand of people. There is little that they are doing which is a surprise to me.
You should just as loudly demand that the PPP reforms itself and become a multi ethnic party filled with innovative and competent folks.
After all there is no country in the world where you will have good governance if those who are to hold them accountable are as lacking in competence and credibility as the PPP are.

Where did you hear me screaming?
"Until there is proper reform in Guyana there will be no change. The onus is as much on the PPP, to admit their wrongs, as it is on APNU/AFC not to copy the worst of the PPP."-
The onus is really on the government, not the PPP. They not in government

Where is the evidence for this (except hearsay, as you admit)? If members of the govt steal, it does not give them the right to steal because the PPP before them steal. What kind of twisted logic is this you pushing here? Any stealing done is detrimental to the poor Guyanese.
"After all if the PPP folks stole their way to wealth, why the shock that they feel that they should have the same right."
Many people will be shocked. I am surprise you are pushing this nonsense here...I think you loosing some of your marbles.
It's nice to know that the Botanical Gardens has received some decent cash for upgrades. From kids to seniors, there's hardly a Guyanese who won't have words of praise for the Botanical Gardens. From the time I was 11 years old up to a few weeks before migrating, I visited that serene and lovely place many times. I have lots of pics as mementos.
If ExxonMobil is donating funds for the Garden so be it. But, we must realized that there ain't no such thing as a free lunch.

On the contrary sir, the rat pays with his/her life for a taste of the cheese. Nothing in this world is free except the air you breathe.
