Fake meter reading gunmen rob Golden Grove family

Police today said that investigations are being conducted into an armed robbery that occurred at about 1015h. today at Golden Grove, EBD, during which Donette Atwell, 26 years; Pauline Peters, 49 years; and Roxanne Crawford, 22 years, were attacked and robbed by five men armed with handguns.
Investigations revealed that the men entered the premises under the pretext that they were there to read the electrical meter and held the three victims at gunpoint, a police release said.
The perpetrators then tied them up with duct tape and ransacked the building and took away $10,000.00 US, $80,000.00, a cell phone and a quantity of jewellery and escaped in a motor vehicle, the police said.
