[www.inewsguyana.com] – Home Affairs Minister and General Secretary of the ruling People’s Progressive Party (PPP), Clement Rohee says Former Commissioner and Elections Campaign Manager of the main parliamentary opposition – a Partnership for National Unity (APNU), Winston Felix is up to his usual mischief.

He was at the time dispelling claims by Felix that the PPP is attacking Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) Chief Elections Officer, Keith Lowenfield in its criticism on the Preliminary List of Electors (PLE).

“Felix should hang his head in shame,” Rohee said. He believes Felix is trying to pit the PPP against Lowenfield.

“He is the man that was responsible for the death of so much police under his watch… what kind of moral authority does Mr. Felix have to come out and make a statement of this nature?” Rohee questioned.

He added ““We attack issues, not personalities. Our position is very clear and very principled. If we have a problem with any aspect of the elections preparations, list or otherwise, we would make our views known publicly. We will send our views written to GECOM.”

According to the PPP GS, any problem the Party has with the list or otherwise it will continue to make objections publicly and write to GECOM.

“We have nothing to hide. We are not doing anything surreptitiously. We have no interest in rigging elections. We have fought against all those things and therefore our position is a principled one,” Rohee remarked.

He said the PPP welcomes Lowenfield’s appointment; adding that the Commissioners who speak on the Party’s behalf at GECOM have also supported his assumption to office.

“We have no interest in attacking anyone personally.”
