The dead woman has been identified as “Pam”, a mother of three.

And so the lawlessness continues without abate, seems like the New Government is impotent to do anything to bring this lawlessness to a halt.

No government is worth its salt, who cannot protect its citizens, and so Guyana is in that category as is right now.

Dead: Pamela Kendall

Dead: Pamela Kendall

[www.inewsguyana.com] – A 56 – year – old female cash crop farmer was shot dead last evening (August 20) by bandit (s) who invaded her Lot 19 #45 Corentyne Berbice home.

Dead is Pamela Kendall who came face to face with a gunman in her kitchen during a power outage in the area.

Her husband, Deoram Sookchand, also a farmer, told iNews that at around 18:30 hrs, they were about to close up their doors when he left his wife in the kitchen and went into the shower.

He said shortly after he heard his wife screamed, followed by a gunshot. Sookchand said he remained in the shower and started to scream as well, after which he heard persons jumping the fence of his neighbour.

According to the traumatized man, he came out and looked for his wife and eventually found her in a pool of blood at his brother’s residence, which is a stone’s throw away from his home.

iNews understands that after she was shot, Kendall ran to her Brother – in – Law’s house, signaling them to help her when she collapsed. She was rushed to the Skeldon Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

The woman was shot once and it is unclear how many bandits there were; nothing was stolen and electricity returned to the area shortly after the incident.

How do you protect a wife from their husban's brutality? Domestic violence saw the deaths of 35 women in 1914 by their significant others.  Do you know of one PSA or one mental  health program developed by the PPP to address this issue? Guyana has failed consistently across the PPP era on every level of basic rights from property rights, women rights to civil rights. Instead of complaining what this government has not done complain about our laziness across administrations to address very small problems much-less the big ones. Search the site...I have a list of small problems It think needs addressing and on everyone of those issues we must hold the present admin station accountable after about a year or so in office with no change. We cannot begin when they have not had a chance to even know the scope of their problems given the PPP stole us into the dirt.
