Finance Secretary abandons post; new appointment made

[www.inewsguyana.com] – Minister of State, Joseph Harmon has revealed that Finance Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Nirmal Rekha has abandoned his post since proceeding on leave earlier this year.

Minister Harmon told a post cabinet media briefing on Friday, September 18, that Mr Rekha had proceeded on leave, which came to an end on July 31 but has not returned to work.

iNews understands that in the interim, Deputy Finance Secretary, Louise Bouyea, has been appointed to act as the Finance Secretary.

When questioned by iNews, Harmon revealed that Minister of Finance, Winston Jordan indicated that several telephone calls were made to Rekha’s house, to which there was no response.

However, Minister Jordan advised that Mr Rekha was in touch with his Secretary at the Ministry on at least two occasions after July 31.

You all do not know Rekha. A proud man. He said to his friend he got enough money. (one of bharat laudromats). NO need to wuk with the PNC.
