Fly Jamaica Airways, after several delays, finally launched flights on 17 December from Kingston (KIN) in Jamaica and Georgetown (GEO) in Guyana to Toronto Pearson (YYZ) in Canada. Both flights will be operated weekly using the airline’s 757s. On Tuesdays flights from Kingston arrive in Toronto before heading for Georgetown, while on Wednesdays the flight arrives in Toronto from Georgetown before taking off for Kingston.

Competition on the 4,620-kilometre Georgetown route is provided by Caribbean Airlines with twice-weekly flights, but the 2,870-kilometre Kingston route is much more keenly contested, with both Air Canada and Caribbean Airlines offering five weekly flights and WestJet a further two weekly flights.
