Foreign diplomats meet with the APNU

[www.inewsguyana.com] – Representatives of A Partnership for National Unity (APNU) led by the Leader of the Opposition, David Granger today met with diplomats from the United States of America, Britain, Canada, and the European Union to discuss President Donald Ramotar’s decision to prorogue Parliament.

A media release from the APNU noted that the meeting was requested by the diplomats, where the APNU iterated its position that there will be no extra parliamentary engagement with the President on the matters which were before the National Assembly.

The APNU informed the foreign diplomats that the Party will embark on a series of measures dedicated to the restoration of the National Assembly as the most appropriate venue for the discussion and consideration of affairs of the state and the people.

“The American, British, Canadian, and European Union diplomats all seem to favour an early end to the prorogation,” the APNU release noted.

Present at today’s meeting were Charge d’Affairs of the United States Embassy, Mr. Bryan David Hunt; British High Commissioner, Mr. Andrew Ayre; Canadian High Commissioner, Dr. Nicole Giles; and European Union Ambassador to Guyana, Mr. Robert Kopecky.

These same diplomats know fully well that they told Ramotar that he should hold LGE as it is 16 years past due.

They have no respect for the PPP.  They know that the PPP is terrified at the prospect of facing an election.  Indeed when Ramotar admitted that he would have held LGE, but for the fact that he didn't control parliament that is all that they needed to know.  Hosting LGE is not up to the PPP.  It is due every 5 years, and so its embarrassingly past due at this point!

Herr Dictator El Presidente Ramotar needs to stand up like a man and fight, and not be a pu ssy and keep running like the marathon man. Call the Elections now.

The PPP has reached the point that the ABC nations and the international agencies are just as tired of them as they were of the PNC in 1992.

This is why Norways provides their money to the IDB and refuses to hand it directly to the gov't.  They don't trust the PPP to handle the funds appropriately.

Maybe this was why Batty Plug (Jagdoe) was vexed with the Norwegians, he seems to have  wanted the money to be in his hand so that he would have find a way to steal some.

Canadian, British, American and European Union diplomats, similar to others and the Guyanese in particular, indeed would like to see an end to the current situation.

However, the combined opposition, PNC and AFC, can either become reasonable with their approaches, or face an early election.

The AFC comrades know that they cannot stop the PPP from winning the next elections. They have decided that the last option left to really harass the PPP to bring a vote of no confidence against the gov't.

To the contrary, The AFC and the APNU are licking their chops because they know the have the PPP on the back foot and on the run. The willingness of the PPP to ruin their sacred victimization narrative of the British suspending the constitution with no emergency at hand by doing exactly that is reason enough to illustrate their quaking.

The PPP was stopped in 2011, isn't that what the PPP has been whining about the past 3 years?

Haven't they been whining that they were stopped in their tracks 3 years ago crying like little pussies?

The PPP need just a few thousand more votes to pull  it off. They will easily get that. They suffered in the last elections because of a power-struggle within the upper ranks of the party. The situation amongst traditional supporters is totally different today that it was in 2011. People have learned to accept and move on. The Jagdeo/ Moses fight has become irrelevant and there it can no longer be used as something to draw votes.

What? where did you cook up this pile of shit nonsense from?

Traditional voters? you mean the ones that are dead or the ones that have migrated to the islands to live under black governments?

Why has the PPP been hiding the census results? ahhhhh right because its a state secret. Find some other hideous bullshit to come tell us here. You are confusing yourself.

I look forward to the elections and I look forward to seeing this much hated cabal being turfed out and I hope the opposition however they work their deals out, come together and give this sleazy lot exactly what they deserve, time off in confinement with a bit of hard labour thrown in to help with weight maintenance.

The PPP prorogued parliament.  No one else.  The diplomats want to see the end of "rule by decree" where the party which earned 49% of the vote dictates to 100% of the population. That isn't anybody's idea of democracy.

DG do you understand that the majority of the voters DID NOT support the PPP, and with a declining Indian population, this trend will accelerate rather than reverse.

That too!  I wonder why Nehru doesn't comment on the fact that every whore house in Barbados has ample Indo Guyanese girls who cater to the sexual needs of the black lumpen proletariat........the better off go after the Colombians and the Brazilians who they see as more exotic.

This is what the PPP brought on this poor girls so desperate to flee Guyana.

They can only do that if specific crimes are committed.  But the PPP are very insecurity, and Guyanese (especially PPP supporters) tend to believe what foreigners sau.  So if they begin a barrage of bad publicity against the PPP, then the cracks already existing will become gaping holes.  More and more PPP supporters will question that party and protest against it by not voting, or voting AFC.  The PNC bogeyman is less powerful than it once was, which is why the PPP is hoping that they can generate unrest at the protests.
