Alliance for Change region six councilor Haseef Yusuf has once again exposed cronyism and the internal machinations of a 'cabal' headed by Khemraj Ramjattan. In a letter carried only by the Guyana Chronicle and Guyana Times Yusuf wrote that the AFC executive, led by Ramjattan is covering up corrupt practices within the party. He said the corruption has now reached epidemic proportions and that the party's continued ‘melt down’ is inevitable.

Yusuf said that during an inquiry into allegations of financial malpractice against  Verasammy Ramayya  the party's former General Secretary, Sixtus Edwards, found him (Ramayya) guilty and recommended that he be disciplined. As a result of this the election at the party's National Conference was rigged to get rid of Edwards. He said Edwards also spoke out at the conference on the need for strict accountability. Edwards also lamented the party's one-man finance committee which he deemed a recipe for corruption. Yusuf said Edwards' outspokenness cost him his office.

It's better to focus attention on matters of importance and actual changes taking place under the good government of Guyana. AFC has lost their momentum as a third force since they bond with APNU and create hostility at Linden and Agricola. Each ruin that visit them wouldn't surprise me the least. Their death couldn't come fast enough.
