Former Assistant to Gov’t Minister slapped with another charge; granted bail in High Court
Before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, Joseph pleaded not guilty to the charge which alleged that on January 20, at Charlotte and Shiv Chanderpaul Drive, Georgetown; he uttered a false document to defraud the public.
The forged document, according to the Prosecution, was to allow him access to the VIP lounge of the airline. Bail was refused and the matters against him were transferred before Magistrate Judy Latchman for report and fixture of trial.
However iNews understands that Magistrate Latchman granted him $100,000 bail for the forgery offence, while he was granted $1M bail by the High Court on charge of aiding and abetting Mahendra Ramsuchit and Rohbina Basdeoram to traffic 21.360 kilogrammes of cocaine.
Joseph is represented by Attorney-at-Law, James Bond. The accused is a former assistant of Junior Minister of Agriculture Ali Baksh.
