Sase Narain

Former long-serving Speaker of the National Assembly Sase Narain passed away today at the age of 95.
He served as Speaker from 1971 to 1992.
Condolonces to the family ,he was a friend and customer to the owner of Company ,i worked for. Had many interactions with Sase Narain as an employee of the company.

Steve Narine was Vice President of PNCR .
There was a Steve Narine -- not Narain .
Steve Narine was Chief Works and Hydraulics Officer who later served as a Vice President and Minister in Forbes Burnham's PNCR Government.

i remember my parents talking about Sase and Steve. they were so arrogant and nasty in their PNC heydays. they acted like they were gods. i think Sase's sister is my aunt-in-law, so I better hush up

The New Nation newspaper, referred to as the Organ of the PNC showed Sase Narain tutoring scabs in Canjie, Berbice how to chop sugar cane during the 135 day strike. He was telling the scabs to chop the cane without damaging the root.
An irate canecutter asked him if he ever held a cutlass and cut cane in his life.

Sasa Narain asked Pt Repu Daman Persaud to form their own Political Party because they had control of over 200,000 Hindus. Repu refused and then Sase joined the PNC and got rid of Repu from the General Secretary's position in his absence.
I remembered that Repu declared that he was still the General Secretary. He was then sued for libel against the Minister of Home Affairs. The case was postponed but the newspapers still printed that Repu was found guilty the next day. Sase Narain was a very vindictive person.
I used to learn Judo at the Maha Sabha. I was living not too far away from the place.

The mistake Mr. Sase made was not to convert to Islam. Jaganite Hindu Koolie crab dogs only know how to kick other Hindu Koolies.

Our condolences go out to the Family of former Speaker of Parliament Sase Narain SC. His Honourable Service to Our Nation is well spoken of and has left a positive impression on many of our leaders. May he rest in peace and his work be well recorded in the history of Our Nation that future generations may learn from his accomplishments.
