Fudadin is a good pick for England tour or is he a victim of neglect

The West Indies will be touring England in August and September this year and many have already predicted that it will be a tough tour for the regional side. England is currently ranked at number three in test and four in ODI, while the West Indies are at number eight is test and nine in ODI.
While an automatic berth for the West Indies at the World Cup seems unlikely, the Caribbean side will want to improve their test rankings. But the regional selectors must put together a side that can adapt to the conditions as quickly since not many of the region’s players are plying their trade there.
One name that readily comes to mind is batsman Assad Fudadin. Since his last tour to South Africa in 2014/’15 where he sustained an injury during a fielding drill prior to the first test which sidelined him from playing on tour, Fudadin has not played for the senior team. He was asked to rest for 6-8 weeks upon his return to the Caribbean and following his recovery he turned out for the Guyana Jaguars in the 2015 PCL.
He played two first class games prior to the England and Australia series in 2015 but wasn’t selected; failure can never be seen as a reason for his omission.
Following a decent performance in the regional Super 50 where he was the second highest run scorer, he was called up for the one day games during the West Indies A team tour to Sri Lanka in 2016.
What was most astonishing is that the Guyana selectors didn’t see him as a first choice for the last PCL even though he was one of the leading batsmen in the local franchise league where he notched up two centuries in four games. However, he was picked for the latter stages of the tournament and responded with a century against a formidable Windward Islands attack and a half century versus Trinidad and Tobago.
Fudadin, who was part of the victorious West Indies U15 team in the Cost cutter World Cup in 2000 and the West Indies U19s in the 2004 World Cup, has played in three test matches with a highest score of 55 against New Zealand. In his three tests, the West Indies drew one against England and won two versus New Zealand.
Fudadin also bowls medium pace and is also is good close in fielder. His ability to bat for long periods, play the ball late, which is essential in conquering the swinging balls in England, keep his wicket intact in gathering runs and experience, makes him a good pick for the England tour.
