We have been reliably informed by a source very close to city Mayor Hamilton Green that a weapon which has been in his possession several years now and which he uses for his personal protection is an unlicensed .45 revolver. Green is among a small group in possession of the said firearm in Guyana and all are illegal as no licenses are known to have been issued for them.
Green’s shady past as an enforcer for the PNC government was revealed during the testimony of various persons at the Walter Rodney Commission of inquiry. He maintains close ties with several shady characters in Albouystown and other areas and was also responsible for a gang which he used as henchmen. The weapon was reportedly acquired whilst Green served as a government official during the PNC government and was never licensed as his position at that time allowed him to travel the country with weapons unhindered.
