The Georgetown Amateur Basketball Association/Powerade/Rainforest Water/Malta Supreme playoffs continued on Sunday night with game 2 of the three-match 2nd Division finals at the Burnham Hard Court on Middle and Carmichael streets. Bounty Colts won Sunday’s game 85-64, led by Jonathan Mangra (18-points) and Timothy Thompson (15-points) to complete a 2-0 finals sweep. Colts basketball club entered the 2017 season as champions in all three divisions (1st, 2nd and Open) and now after completing sweeps in the 2nd and Under-23 Divisions (both against Pacesetters), Plaisance Guardians have the opportunity to dethrone them as Open champions when they meet tomorrow night. Following their loss in Game 1, Plaisance Guardians bounced back to win the 2nd of the three (3) game finals against defending Open Division champions Bounty Colts. Guardians won 88-69, led by an impressive 37 points from Nikolai Smith who got support from Malcolm Powdar (14 points). Shelroy Thomas (23 points) and Stanton Rose (16) top scored for Colts in the losing effort.
