Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC), Rose Hall and Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) registered victories when the Well Teen, Trophy Stall, Tropical Springs and Nauth Motor Spares Under-13 25-over tournament continued recently at DCC.
Georgetown Cricket Club batted first against Gandhi Youth Organisation (GYO) and posted 168-8 with Rahul Singh scoring 45, Rivaldo Phillips 27 and Mitra Dhanraj 12. Extras contributed 45, Dilshan Ramnarine claimed 3-33 and Anthony Dhanraj 2-23. GYO were bowled out for 61 in 17 overs in reply. Sami Mussain made 12 while extras assisted with 33. Yohance Angoy captured 3-9, Sanjay Persaud 2-8 and Aryan Persaud 2-15. Rahul Singh was named man-of-the-match. Rose Hall took first strike and managed 147-9 versus Everest. Surendra Kamcharan made 24; Jermey Sandia got 20 and Shaeam Khan 12. Extras contributed 52, Raynaldo Mohamed claimed 3-23 and Antonio Daconeicao 2-35. Everest were sent packing for 64 in 14 overs in response. Extras led with 20 while Mohamed got 15; Christopher De Roop, Mathew Protoya, Sandia and Wayne Williams picked up two wickets each. Mohamed was voted man-of-the-match. Rose Hall was skittled for 34 in 9.3 overs taking first knock in their game against DCC. Spinner Romeo Deonarain bagged 5-9 to take the man-of-the-match award, Jason Holder 2-5 and Daniel Mootoo 2-10. DCC responded with 35-1 in 8.2 overs. The competition continues tonight at DCC with Everest playing the home team at 18:00hrs. Tomorrow Blairmont will play GYO at 13:00hrs and Transport SC will take on Blairmont at 18:00hrs at the said venue. Each team has to play six matches before the semi final stage. GCC are leading the standings with 81 points from five games, followed by DCC with 70 from five, TSC 57 from five, GYO 51 from five, Rosehall 36 from four, Blairmont 27 from two and Everest on 21 from four.
