Venezuela already has official maps in its government offices; at least for the last 40 years; clearly showing that the Essequibo area as a part the country.
This is always the position of Venezuela to which Guyana has always expressed that it is in contravention of the final approval in 1899.
The recent discovery of oil in Guyana will increase the Venezuelans' interest in Essequibo. Watch out for full annexation of the region. They will do it at some point. They just need a crazy leader at the helm to kick off things.

If Venezuela makes a move, watch how the GDF and police force members cut and run.
Let them touch one blade, licks like rass!!
Exxon is facing lawsuit in Chad for not paying their fair share of taxes and royalties. This company faces charges in the US for all sorts of wrong-doings. Guyana better take note of Exxon's problems with other countries. They might short-change us to a point where we see little benefits from oil.
