Gecom to be ready for local polls once notified of date

–Surujbally

The Guyana Elections Commission (Gecom) would be ready for local government elections once it is notified of a date and money is released by the Finance Ministry, according to Chairman Dr Steve Surujbally, who said that no queries about readiness have been received from either government or opposition parties.

“The Guyana Elections Commission is fully prepared and committed to move formally into an elections mode immediately upon receipt of the appropriate advice from the minister responsible for  local government as prescribed in the relevant legislation,” Surujbally

So what is your comment on GECOM saying it is ready for LOcal elections?

GECOM indicated earlier this year that it could have met the August 1 deadline set by the Local Government Bill if President Ramotar assented within the 21-day constitutionally allowed period.

Whittaker, Rohee and Ramotar gave one stupid excuse after another, insulting the intelligence of the local electorate.

When Brent Hardt stood up and rubbished their foolishness, the cabal sent that mackarel Manickchand into the man's home to cuss him down and stink up de place.

Now, so what if GECOM is ready for LGE?

GECOM have to wait till Ramotar ready, and Ramotar must wait till Rohee ready, and Rohee is waiting till Whittaker ready, and Whittaker taking his time.
