Georgetown Grand Prix set for tomorrow night at GMR&SC

Exciting action is anticipated tomorrow night when GT Motor Sport hosts its 3rd annual Georgetown Grand Prix at the Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club, Albert Street and Thomas Land.

The qualifying of the event, which targets the development of the young drivers, will take place this evening at the said venue.

Addressing the media on Wednesday night, CEO of GT Motor Sport, Vishok Persaud said some 40 competitors have already registered and they are working to have a better parking arrangement in place, adding that the Malteenoes SC is being looked at as an option.

Among the competitors expected to thrill the fans are Matthew Phang (shifter kart race), John Phang (125cc), Elan Rahaman (125cc jnr), Stephan Jeffrey (125cc shifter pro cup) and John Claud-Jeffrey (GX 200 light).

Competitors will battle in the following race groups; 60cc IAME, 125cc senior-IAME X30/Rotax 125, 125cc juniors IAME, X30/Rotax 125 and Pro Cup Shifter Karts.

Action gets underway at 18:00hrs. Admission-adults $1,000 and children $500 and VIP $4,000 includes finger foods and other refreshments. The event is being sponsored by Sun Burst, All in One Snack and Beverage Depot, Stag, Prem’s Electrical, Vishal Auto Toy Store, Exonmobil, Ocean Spray Hotel, GMRSC, Cyril’s Taxi Service, Bounty Farm Ltd and Meat Centre, Rent-a-Tent, Karcher, Japarts, Trophy Stall, Clear Waters, The Track, E-Networks, Marics, Superbet, King’s Jewellery, Truck Masters, Optique Vision Care, Z Online Shopping and BM Soat.
