GFF/NAMILCO Thunderbolt Flour Power Nat. U-17 League…. EDFA to resume matches this weekend

Another of the associations which was severely affected by consistent rain over the past two months is set to resume matches in the GFF/NAMILCO Thunderbolt Flour Power National Under-17 Intra Association competition, this weekend.

Associations were hoping to capitalize on the August holiday vacation break to maximize on playing matches but this was not possible as a result of excessive rainfall which rendered most playing venues unplayable.

However, with more sun in the past week or so, associations are getting back into the NAMILCO Flour Power flow. One such association is the East Demerara Football Association which has scheduled four matches for this weekend, double headers on Saturday and Sunday at the Melanie ground.

From 09:00hrs on Saturday, Buxton Youth Developers will take on Golden Grove and from 11:00hrs, Bachelors Adventure Paradise Sports Club will match skills with Buxton United.

At the same times on Sunday, Plaisance will come up against Ann’s Grove with the main attraction between BV Triumph United and Victoria Kings.

Berbice Football Association
Up in the Ancient County of Berbice, two matches are scheduled for today at different venues. From 15:00hrs at the Mahaicony ground, New Amsterdam United, currently third in the points standings will make the trek to face off with home team Mahaicony Thunder Hawks which presently occupies the fifth place.

One hour later at the Rosignol ground, sixth placed Rosignol United will be aiming to take full points from ninth place Litchfield Nuggets Youth and Sports.

Three matches are slated for Thursday at various venues. At Mahaicony from 16:00hrs, Mahaicony Thunder Hawks will entertain Monedderlust. Two matches will kick off at 15:00hrs; Rosignol United will be at home to New Amsterdam United and at Burnham Park, Cougars will take on Lichfield Nuggets Youths and Sports.

Cougars FC’s Shane Hamilton is the current leading goal scorer with 9 to his tally, followed by Nial Roberts of Paradise Invaders who has 5. Alex Pautaib (Corriverton Links), Troy Munroe (NA United), Shafeel DeHarte (Paradise Invaders) and Lamar Reid (Cougars) are all third with four goals apiece.
