Pouderoyen Football Club (PFC) maintained their winning ways in round two of the GFF/NAMILCO Thunderbolt Flour Power National Intra Association Under-17 League, while Wales United notched up their first win when play in the West Demerara Football Association (WDFA) leg continued yesterday at the Leonora Stadium.

Following up on their massive 10-1 win over Crane Rovers the week before at the same venue, Pouderoyen, led by a brace of goals from Stephon Fraser, took care of Golden Warriors 4-0. Fraser was on target in the 22nd and 70th minute and found able support from Akeem Pinder who hammered home in the 21st minute and Keanu Lawrence in the 59th minute.
Lawrence had scored four goals in the Crane Rovers demolition, while Pinder had a hat-trick and Fraser accounted for one as the trio maintained their menacing form.
Yesterday’s other match was a scorcher between Wales and Crane Rovers as the former notched up a much deserved win, while the latter’s winless form continued.
Shawn Downer, who touched in a double for Wales, gave them a two-goal cushion with strikes in the 16th and 32nd minute after which Crane Rovers halved the deficit with a goal from Tyler Wharton in the 51st minute.
Wales’ two goal cushion was restored in the 60th minute on account of Shaquan Caleb’s effort which more or less sealed the win for Wales. Despite a 90th minute goal from Ezam David, Wales went on to take full points with a 3-2 win.
