Golden Stars too good for Plaisance; Mahaica and Ann’s Grove draw
When play in the East Demerara leg of the GFF/NAMILCO Thunderbolt Flour Power National Under-17 Intra Association League continued on Sunday last at the Golden Grove ground, East Coast, Demerara, the lone win was recorded by Golden Stars with the match between Mahaica Determinators and Ann’s Grove petering out into a 1-1 draw.
Golden Stars were led to their comfortable 4-0 win over the hapless Plaisance with a hat-trick off the boot of Shawn Adonis who rocked the nets in the 11th minute from the penalty spot, 19th and 78th minute, respectively. The other goal was scored by Dextroy Culpepper in the 33rd minute.
The first match of the afternoon saw Mahaica battling back from a goal down to earn a free share of the points in their match up with Ann’s Grove which had taken the lead early in the second half following a goalless first.
Ann’s Grove Shane Higgins broke the deadlock three minutes after the resumption and enjoyed that advantage up until the 75th minute when Mahaica’s Orland Adams drew them level.
Matches will continue on Saturday at the same venue with a double header. From 13:00hrs, Bachelors Adventure Paradise Sports club will engage BV Triumph United with the feature game from 15:00hrs between Golden Stars and Buxton United.
