Washington (CNN)Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg's well-known candor was on display in her chambers late Monday, when she declined to retreat from her earlier criticism of Donald Trump and even elaborated on it.

"He is a faker," she said of the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, going point by point, as if presenting a legal brief. "He has no consistency about him. He says whatever comes into his head at the moment. He really has an ego. ... How has he gotten away with not turning over his tax returns? The press seems to be very gentle with him on that."

Ginsburg's comments came in a previously scheduled interview related to my research for a book on Chief Justice John Roberts. I took a detour to raise the reverberations from her criticism of Trump to The Associated Press and The New York Times in recent interviews. "I can't imagine what this place would be -- I can't imagine what the country would be -- with Donald Trump as our president," she had said in the Times interview published Monday.
Trump responded Wednesday morning by calling on Ginsburg to resign.
"Justice Ginsburg of the U.S. Supreme Court has embarrassed all by making very dumb political statements about me. Her mind is shot - resign!" Trump tweeted.
 
It is highly unusual for a justice to make such politically charged remarks, and some critics said she crossed the line. House Speaker Paul Ryan told CNN's Jake Tapper on Tuesday night the comments were "out of place."
"For someone on the Supreme Court who is going to be calling balls and strikes in the future based upon whatever the next president and Congress does, that strikes me as inherently biased and out of the realm."

Exactly.  Now Trump has a point regarding the objectivity of Liberal judges towards him!  This one was handed to Trump on a silver platter.

Look, the honorable Judge is a citizen of the USA and is entitled to her free speech. The one that died lately Antonin used to talk SHIT daily.

The one that died was not commenting on a politician.  He was commenting his views to a special interest group.  Ginsburg went way out by commenting on an active political campaign.  She should quit, move to New Zealand and recollect her thoughts!

Trump has been handed a little nugget here.  Furthermore, Ginsburg's comments shows Trump to be correct on the "Mexican" judge issue!

And no one said she broke any laws but she deviated from the standards of a supreme court judge.  When Trump is elected, he should send her off for a long vacation in New Zealand!

Donald Trump has a thing for made-up stories about people celebrating tragic events.

Trump went on The O’Reilly Factor last night to talk about the aftermath of the ambush at a Dallas Black Lives Matter rally that left five police officers dead. It was, inevitably, a doozy of an interview.

Trump flirted with empathy. When asked by O’Reilly if he could understand the experience of black Americans, he said “I would like to say yes, but you really can’t unless you are African-American.” But then he preceded to be Donald Trump, suggesting that he could maybe actually understand black Americans because he, Donald Trump, is also oppressed by “the system.”

“Well, I’ve been saying, even against me the system is rigged,” he said. “When I ran for president I could see what is going on with the system, and the system is rigged. I can really relate it very much to myself.” Sure!

Trump also showed that he learned nothing from having his claim that “thousands” of American Muslims celebrated 9/11 proven wrong repeatedly. “I saw what they’ve said about police at various marches and rallies,” Trump told O’Reilly. “I’ve seen moments of silence called for for this horrible human being who shot the policemen.” Trump, who is insulated from the country by dint of the fact that he is running for president, does not say where he saw these moments of silence, of course, and none have been reported by any reputable news source. Of all the things to invent, a relatively benign “moment of silence” is a strange one. And yet here we areonald Trump, a man incapable of silence, is imagining fake moments of silence.
