Good Success SC enjoyed a fruitful debut season in the recently concluded Ontario Softball Cricket League 20-over tournament. The Club which has been named after Good Success village in Wakenaam, Essequibo River, finished second in the division with 67 points from 14 games.
Enmore took the top honours with 83 points and Wakenaam third on 66 points.
GSSC finished second in the Norman Sue 15-over knockout competition, losing to Ramblers in the final.
The top performers for Good Success; Anil Ramjas -12 matches, 247 runs, highest 59, 16 wickets, best of 3-14. Naveed Ali â 9 matches, 171 runs, highest 37, 15 wickets, economy 3.60 (lowest in the division, best of 5-11 vs Bacchus Cricket Club) Abdool Azeez -14 matches, 209 runs, highest 47 Imtiaz Abjal -10 matches 12 wickets, best of 4-20
The Highlight of the season was a their fixture against Wakenaam which they won by seven runs.
Scores: Good Success SC 152-9 18 overs ( Ashtaq Mohamed 39*, Safraz Abjal 20, Naveed Ali 15; Suren Persaud 3-19 from 4 overs). Wakenaam 145-9 in 20 overs ( Sharaz Hamid 59, Naveed Ali 2-14 from 4 overs, Safraz Abjal 1-22 from 4).
