By the opposition forces of Guyana, perhaps.

perhaps, perhaps not! had to use that one. Thanks for lending me that supreme example of the art of  non-informational utterances.

non-informational utterances = the gist of your rantings on the forum.

baseman when your Indo elite buddies implement de facto slavery for blacks, if we protest against this you and your racist black hating friends will call us racists.

Of course any protests will result in the murder of hundreds by the PPP and you will call the marches illegal and justify this brutality.

Let me rephrase what you are saying.  The organizers of Occupy WS and the trade unions were stirring up people in NYC and so when they staged marches and refused to leave the park Bloomberg ought to have opened fire and slaughtered them.

Because that is what your BLACK HATING PPP have done.

The police can say what they want.  and so can dictators. Right now Assad is killing people using the same excuse.  Burnham did the same using the same excuse.

So why should we view the PPP differently.

It was a mis-guided protest, not one seeking equity, but one seeking the preservation of privilege at the the expense of the rest of the nation.  You must be able to discern the difference.

And many will argue that the PPP protests which severely and deliberately damaged the sugar industry in the late 70s were also misguided.

I am sure that you and others will argue otherwise.  So why deny Lindeners that right?

So now the PPP has created a deeper problem as they have convinced black people even more that the PPP is a racist party.  First the Chronicle articles about "black savagery", followed by thye slaughter of blacks who are protesting.

Tell me something.  Knowing that protests were planned did the PPP try to figure out a way to ensure that the right to protest was going to be protected without disrupting traffic?

No.  Because they had no intention of allowing these protests as any disagreement with the PPP is in their eyes illegal.

Given that Linden is one of the most economically depressed part of Guyana how can you argue that "they enjoy privileges"?  In a town with widespread malnutrition that is a sick joke.

Not that simple, sugar workers were fighting for wages earned and not paid.  Lindeners were incited to fight for a special privilege at the expense of the rest of the nation.

Sugar workers never went off burning state or private assets, they struck and went about their daily lives raking in a living.

Sugar workers burnt cane and damaged Guysuco property when Bunrham forced scabs to cut cane when they walked off the job.

Has the bauxite plant in Linden been damaged.  Compare like with like please.

Loads of Guyanese felt that the sugar workers had obtained lots of privileges as a lagecy of Bookers....housing estates, cheap land, etc....denied to other Guyanese.  To them the sugar workers were cry babies.  You might njot agree but this is no different from you screaming that the severely impoverished peoples of Linden are "privileged"......when so many have been forced to work elsewhere to sustain their families.

You see what ever one can argue some one claim otherwise, so it makes no sense to attempt to justify people being denied the right to protest.  What ever violence that did occur happened after their right to protest was being stopped.

Now tell me what measure did the PPP take to allow a protest?  None.  So people did what they felt that they had to do.

Really, Nehru, is that true.  Then they deserved a good cut-ass.

All you Stormborns and Caribs live abroad somewhere in North America and do not have a clue as to what is happening in Guyana. WE have our ears to the ground. Linden is not a special case. The rest of the country is subsidizing them for electricity rates. This has been going on for a long time. The gov't wants Linden to pay its fair share. What is wrong with that? It is wrong because of race. If a black gov't had said that they should pay none of this would have happened. So the opposition parties planned and fomented for weeks and hatched plots in that unique Guyanese 'blackguard rang and strang style.' This means we know you right but we don't give damn. It's like selling New Nation to you, we know you don't want it but you have to pay up anyway. Typical PNC 60's response.

Remember how Mahatma Ghandi stirred up the Indians and the British brutalized them?

Reports are that the victims were shot in their backs.

Well, isn't that in insult to the legacy of Gandhi.

I wonder where it's documented he incited Indians to destroy property, threaten life and limb.  Where is it Gandhi was fighting for privileges above the rest of society?

Cheap political prostitution of the facts and circumstances.  Shame.
