Why not ask him personally? Maybe he was misquoted about the date. As is most often the case than not the reporting of comments by anyone other than the PPP regime is always subject to false information.

I heard from a good source the date mysteriously changed after Granger submitted 2000 to 2010. What Granger has to do is say publicly he wants the investigation to start from 2000. In the same way elements in the PPP don't want us to know what happened to Minister Sawh and family, rest assured elements within the PNC don't want to focus on the jailbreak.

I am an academic so I don't need to beg for favors to look good in the face of some. I don't need to leech on others for some drinks and poke cuttahs like you. Have no reason to thief like you do as I am quite comfortable with the little I have. Always spend less than you earn and there is no need to rape the poor people's assets like you do.

If Granger can ask, so can others. He is right to ask for this period because it is fresh on our minds hence current. If there was a necessity to ask for previous to that then the PPP should. All of us on this board as far as I can remember asked the PPP at the time to investigate the period beginning December 98 to the rise of the drug killings in 2002. On this board and officially the PPP denied we ever had a problem in '98

If we are going to build some trust around a process of reconciliation someone has to be magnanimous - I agree that it is the government of the day that is responsible for initiating inquiries but the fact that Granger chose a date that specifically excluded the jail break mayhem speaks volumes about the PNC's nature, one that seems caste in the same die that made the PPP.
