This fellow CaribJ is taking this one comment from IMF about PNC continuing the PPP projects and blowing it up as evidence that they are doing well.   I hope the PNC does well with the economy in the next 4 years as I have much to lose in the country if they bring it back to the Hoyte/Burnham mismanagement years.

But this is what democracy is all about, the PPP became complacent with mediocrity, now the PNC needs to avoid falling into the same trap.  Mars CaribJ, Django, T, Chief, Gilly and others are content to see them squat in office as a do nothing govt.

Please indicate how the PPP developed the Guyana economy.  Be specific.  Explain how new industries were developed, or that there was heightened value added from our export industries.

A gold rush, and speculative spending resulting from this isn't what development is about.  Boom towns come and go.

Sorry.  It was Hoyte who turned the economy around.  Most importantly Hoyte prevented Cheddi from extending the devastation of Guyana, which he would have done though wholesale adoption of Castroism.

And yes Guyana had 3% growth, when other major commodity producers had lower growth, or are in recession!

This is not ONE statement.  This THE statement which flies in the face of claims that this gov't is wasting money.

Now we can resume debate about whether this gov't can move Guyana beyond its 1932 economy.  My response is that they are too dumb and lazy to do so, but money wasters! NO!

Ow buddy, you relax in your armchair in your brooklyn apartment, housebound and possibly on govt assistance, section 8 and claim to know all about Guyana. I suggest that you beg for someone to give you a plane ticket to see all the development under the PPP since Hoyte was kicked out.
