People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR) leader, David Granger during his address at his party's second General Council Meeting for this year held over the weekend called on “every party member to work to resist efforts internally and by external forces to divide” the party. This however, is being seen as an acknowledgement of the widening rift between several factions within the PNC, the existence of which he had previously denied.

Granger himself is a leader of one faction which includes Basil Williams, Joe Harmon, Amna Ally and several others. His group has been up against another led by Carl Greenidge who had challenged him for the leadership of the party back in 2010. Those that have suffered as a result of the squabble include Aubrey Norton, James Mc Allister, Dr Faith Harding, several members of the party's youth arm and more recently Vanessa Kissoon.
