Granger made headlines for commissioning two small boats, a little bigger than canoes, for school children river transportation in Linden, and stole the spotlight on the world stage that every body must read about it.

Granger could have given the task to one of his incompetent minister, so that he can focus on bigger and important issues that is crippling Guyana.  This is another reason this coalition government will remain a comic book administration.

All they want is to get maximum recognition for giving two small boats in Linden and two small buses in region five. Guyana has 10 regions. By the time they finish giving two pennies here and there, their five years will be up for new president as Moses stated.

Granger is banking on the oil money that is not coming fast enough. He definitely don't want to be bothered with sugar and rice anymore. That's why his intention is to kill both industries with one stone.

Again, this government is NOT serious about the development of Guyana and the welfare of its people. He's too preoccupied with getting recognition for the things that doesn't need an ounce of exposure.

Clearly, Granger, an army man, is not qualified to be president of Guyana. He appears to have one foot in the grave and would do well to surround himself with brighter minds, however those around him are even more incompetent. His cheap theatrics of using tax payers dollars to appease his supporters and then make headlines by claiming that he donated boats when it was really the tax payers.

Funny thing. The PPP freaks scream about Granger using this as a PR game.

No one would have bothered with the 2 little canoes that he gave, had that element not continued to wail about it, even making the gift equivalent to the subsidies for Guysuco!

It this had been Jagdeo or Ramoutar you would have had the same reaction, claiming that they were buying votes. This was played out over the years many time during the PPP's tenure when they give to different villages and you folks claimed bribery for votes.

I have been following the nonsense from the PPP bottom feeders about the  two boats now available for school kids to cross from Wismar and Christianburg to MacKenzie. It is quite obvious that none of the critics have been to Linden at any time during their life. Otherwise they would have known that the type of boats donated are the same type of boats that have made that crossing for as long as those towns have been established. The ones for the kids have an additional transparent plastic protection. They are hop on-hop off boats since the journey takes less than a minute. Bike owners stand at the front of the boat with their bike and are the last to embark, and the first to disembark.

School kids normally have to cross the river with adults, who frequently molest the school girls. The provision of two boats exclusively for the school kids will provide a lot more security against the poorly behaved men who would otherwise be on the boat.

It's hard to decide whether to pity you or slap you down. It's not about the boats and buses. It's about emphasis on education. If you need further breakdown, bray.

They have a bridge and proper roads to reach the location. It would be much safer to use the roads rather than risking children lives crossing in boats.

How are their lives being risked?

Put it this way, would this type of transport in the US or CA be acceptable for school children? There would be public outcry.

The bridge is at the border between Watooka and Wismar, and about 15 to 20 minutes from the school at one end, and about the same distance from the bridge at the other end. So if you lived close to Christianburg and wanted to walk to a school in MacKenzie you are looking at a one hour walk. The boat will take you across in less than one minute from the moment it starts the crossing.

The question you posed further goes to demonstrate how little you guys know about Linden. It is this same crossing that many East Indian families used to try to escape the roaming killers during the terror period in Wismar. Some people actually jumped into the river and swam across since it is not that wide for a good swimmer.

Who talking about walking? Ever heard of school buses? This would have been a more worthwhile/safer investment.

Why would there be public outcry? Do you have any idea how many students in Guyana attend school by canoe?
