I hate to be defending the PPP here. They can do so themselves, but there are several sides of a story. You forgot that the pnc has had close ties to criminal elements. Remember the taped conversation between basil Williams and the commissioner of police regarding the shooting at Agricola, planning on placing drugs in the luggage of an outgoing passenger,  the so-called Buxton freedom fighters. As far as I can remember, the security forces were either unable, unwilling or complicit in dealing with the criminals at that time.

I am uncertain of your source that the more militant element if the pnc consider granger as soft. Before the pnc congress that elected him as leader, there was a lot of in-fighting. Corbin and many others considered him more militant than all the other possible candidates and backed granger. Especially against greenidge who they viewed as soft. They liked the fact that he had close relationship to Burnham, that he was called the "dagger", that there was never any wavering in his loyalty to what burnham stood for.

just to let you know that the in-fighting has continued even after the coalition assumed power.

Except that this segment of the PNC also dislike Granger.

The PPP has threatened violence against the KN before.  Freddie K was actually attacked, as were others.

I cannot recall any incident involving the PNC and KN.

I hate to be defending the PNC here, but as has already been revealed in a US court during the trial of the PPP drug baron Roger Khan, the so called Buxton Freedom fighters were nothing else than PPP hired black thugs.

Next thing you going to tell us that the well known PNC antiman Kwame McCoy, etc., etc. Stop living in denial about the fact that the PPP employed a wide range of black criminals in order to make black people look bad.

Even Kari, who cannot be accused of being a Jagdeo worshipper, boasted that Jagdeo succeeded in getting blacks to shoot and kill each other.   Jagdeo and RK hired black criminals, and rogue cops/soldiers.

The Guyanese economy is doing far better than Venezuela, Brazil, and Suriname right now. So why does the PPP want to sabotage the economy next year?
Also note that the largest mass exodus ever in the history of the nation was during the PPP era of government.

• a senior government official was heard on an audio recording issuing threats of a violent and deadly attack on Kaieteur News.
