I saw a whole set of plastic bottles floating around which is one of the main reason for flooding. Instead the government enforce the law, set strict guidelines and educate Guyanese the danger of improper littering, they've decided to ban Styrofoam. This flooding has been going on for years and no major steps has been taken to correct the problem. It only get worst and worst every time it rains.

You mean the pnc/afc police enforce the laws? There has been trash awareness education and advertisement for years to no avail.

Guyanese are insensitive to environmental cleanliness and plain stupid as a People if they don't yet understand the economic, health and social consequences of littering and clogging up the drains.  It is way past time for the gov't to wake up and do what is necessary to take control of the city from the M&CC as the latter have demonstrated that they CANNOT do the job, and ENFORCE the laws and rules that relate to littering etc.

It is time that the government does its job in Guyana - period.

I agree! They're all incompetent of doing anything right. I am still pissed to see an American teaching "Guyanese road construction workers" how to to paint a straight white line on the road. That took the cream out of me. Are Guyanese that stupid or rum eat out their brains?
