One match is still to be played to decide the sixth team from the Georgetown Zone that will make it into the Super-16-round of the GTT Tapeball Competition which continued on Sunday last at the Cultural Center Tarmac with 20 teams battling.Due to fading light, the organizers decided that the sixth and final second round match between Queenstown ‘B’ and Eccles All Stars will be the first match played on Sunday which will see the culmination of the competition at the National Park Tarmac.Shell Road, owing to unsportsmanlike behavior, were disqualified from the competition and their second-round opponent; Outlaws have made it into the Super-16-round. The other teams making it into Sunday’s round of the competition are GT Strikers, Ruimveldt Sports Club, PSI Legends and CJIA ‘B’ which drew the bye.The action was intense on a sun drench drenched day in the City with teams, many which were well uniformed, played excellent cricket as they sought to outfox each other; but only six have made it through to the business end of the competition on Sunday.Teams from the East Coast, West Demerara/West Bank and Georgetown will collide on Sunday; the best two will make it into the finals.Following are the results of matches played on Sunday last in Georgetown:Round 21. CJIA ‘C’ were limited to 41-3 responding to PSI Legends 56-5.2. Village Rams posted 51-3, Ruimveldt Sports Club eased to 52-1. 3. Hangovers managed 51-2, GT Strikers won by reaching 52-3. 4. Shell Road was disqualified; Outlaws advances.5. CJIA ‘B’ drew the bye6. Queenstown ‘B’ will oppose Eccles All Stars in the 1st match on Sunday for final place.Round 11. Tarmac 59-3 went down to GT Strikers 60-3. 2. Hadfield United could only manage 38-5 replying to Eccles All Stars 59-5.3. Republic Bank 51-4 were thumped by PSI Legends 53-1. 4. V-Net Vipers fell short at 58-3 in reply to Ruimveldt Sports Club 64-1. 5. CJIA ‘A’ reached 37-5 and lost to Shell Road which made 39-1. 6. Eccles Rockers put up a fight in reach 72-4 but was still short of Village Rams 86-1.7. Super Seven made a gallant effort to reach 61-1, 9 less than Queenstown ‘B’ 70-2.8. Queenstown ‘A’ 40-5 were hammered by CJIA ‘B’ which posted 44-1. 9. Combine Force managed 40-2 to which Outlaws made 43-1.10. Albouystown were limited to 66-4 in response to Hangovers 70-1.
