Nigel Hughes Speaks out on the Massacre in Linden by the Police

The tragic events in Linden last evening have accelerated our journey to the precipice. Even before the dust settles there are a few basic minimum demands which must be immediately met.

 

(a) An immediate international forensic examination into the deaths of the four persons at Linden. The Guyana Police Force being the prime suspect in the homicides cannot possibly conduct an investigation of itself. The Lindo creek massacre is a painful reminder of their inadequacies.

 

(b) The immediate resignation of the Minister of Home Affairs for the failure of the Guyana Police Force to follow standard operating procedure and its obvious inability to protect and serve the citizens of Linden.

 

(c) Admission that the country is now dangerously close to the precipice and only internationally managed and monitored discussions preferably by United Nations involving the leaders of the country at the highest level, will forestall any further degeneration of the present crisis.

A constituency is a target Universe of individuals. It is not limited references to political universes such as the body of electors in a nation state or district but to potential clients, supporters to a sport event or team etc.

Further, Guyana is the universe of electors for the AFC so any individual in the state is a target to be a constituent for the party. That is the reason I said that for Gerhard "His constituency is the guyanese people."
