A very reliable source from Georgetown has revealed that Guyana is headed for a snap election.
The PNC and AFC are in talks again tonight after a long night last night. According to the source both parties could not agree on the naming of the party since both the PNC and AFC will run under a single slate.
The proposed name of the new party suggested is PFC but the PNC is in disagreement since they prefer the new party to be called APNUC. The AFC is still insisting on PFC. Talks continue.
Another disagreement was the PFC ticket. Moses has gladly agreed to run as Prime Minister with Granger as President with the Presidential leadership rotated every five years. The main areas of disagreement was the naming of the finance minister of which the PNC insisted that Carl Greenidge is the most experienced candidate. The AFC has indicated that they prefer TK as finance minister but the PNC insisted that TK serve a junior finance minister.
Gerhard will serve as minister of works and Ramjattan as minister of agriculture. The coalition has remained mum in the rest of the ticket. They will meet again tomorrow night and finalize plans for setting a date to pass a no confidence motion in parliament to bring down the PPP government.
AFC and PNC members have been advised to deny any revelation of this breaking news. Stay tuned....
