You know Jamaicans will go to an event even if they hate the party in power. If its JAMAICAN thats all they need to know.
And yes Jamaican political hatreds run much deeper than is the case for Guyanese.
Guyana is doomed to fail because there is no room for a Guyanese to support an event like this w/o people like you screaming that its a PPP event and so any one who goes must support the PPP.

They also had not done any market research. Their prices were way off, and they had no idea how to distribute their products outside of the trade show format.

The buffoon wrecks every darn thread with his political/sexual/religious/sexual remarks.
This thread is about the Guyanese people showing their craft, who the hell cares who the governing party is?

You are correct, unlike Jamaica, etc, with Guyana politics and race are one in the same. We dislike/distrust the other side even if one means well. Afros dislike the PPP due to race and same for Indians of the PNC. Then we hate more those of our race who go to the other side, it's like the "dark" side.
Baseman has always contend the PNC did, and does, have some good ideas, but baseman don't trust the PNC in power to not revert to yester-years. You also have to admit the PPP have done some good and have good ideas. If you cannot, they you are fully blinded by race.

Look who shows up?

Baseman politics in Jamaica is way more dangerous than it is in Guyana. In Gtwn a PPP voter can live next door to a PNC voter. Not true in Kingston. Do you know that even babies have been killed if the local political dons think that their parents support the "wrong" party?
In Jamaica politics determiens who gets a job, who gets govt contracts, who gets housing, and which neighborhood gets infrastructure. Folks can and do kill for that.
Our problem in Guyana is that we have had dictatorships. Not possible in Jamaica. So no PNP person can tell a JLP supporter that they are less Jamaican, or because they attend an event sponsored by the govt of Jamaica then they must support the governing party.
We have had Janet Jagan, Forbes Burnham, and Bharat Jagdeo who have all screamed that if you do not support them you are not a person worthy of respect. To be "anti government" is to be subhuman and any level of abuse can be hurled at you. And Guyanese meekly tolerate this because we are a docile people.
No way that will happen in Jamaica. No Jamaican will tolerate the party which they do not support attempting to limit their opportunities. Hence the violence and political hatreds way worse than what Guyana has known.

How about old man Cheddi.
Not sure what you mean by "sub-human". In Guyana the political dynamics is different due to the race issue. Afros and Indians live side by side and in harmony, but we are [mostly] on opposite side of the political spectrum. We all know that and accept that as the norm and expectation even though we disagree.

I will grant you that Cheddi's biggest faults were that he was terrified of his communist wife, and too loyal to his friend Burnham, so gave him "constructive" support when Burnham toopk over the economy. So I do not list him as one of our dictators. Just a weak man who let two of them destroy Guyana.
Politics in Guyana is a good deal less volatile than it is in Jamaica. Largely becausew Jamaicans are more volatile than Guyanese of either race, and so conflicts become more aggressive.
Note that Jamaica has never had dictators. not because there werent people who had that ambition. But because Jamaicans would NEVER have allowed to a despot to rule them.
Guyana's racial issuees have nothing to do with this. OUr docility is the main problem. So this is why we have had several dictators, and Jamaica has never had one.
Banna you always twisting things to race, ****** v black. The exhibition is not about that. Go and enjoy yourself for once. If you can't I know a good shrink for you.

I expect that you are addressing baseman, but I bet you are not. He is an Indian after all, but then you will scream that you do not have racial bias.
Who going?
What you talkin about deh chief, goin where?
how about putting Gburd in a BOOTH and pin a sign on him here is guyana racist and ass what you see is what you get
How bout have him in the middle of a target board... with ballons stuck on him. Object of the game, pop the ballons with darts.
Other than the heat in the Fitzgerald Gymnasium, Ii found the Expo to be quite an eye-opener. The exhibit that impressed me was the sculptured art by Mahendra Bharat. His work could be put alongside some of thef inest exhibits you could find anywhere. I was proud of this Guyanese Decorative Artist and the work he put out. Aa splendid Mahatma Ghandi objet d'art was like US$2,500. The iconic Guyana figures on display in Mahogany and another wood specie that escapes me were worth going to the Expo for.
Clive Lloyd was on hand and lots of peeps had photo-tek-outerers tekkin' out piktchas
So you musta picked up a few pieces eh Kari?
Kari I left to go but got there late. How was the turnout?
