Guyana suffered its second loss in as many matches when Puerto Rico trounced the nationβs young basketballers 48-115 yesterday at the Centrobasket Under-17 championships being played in the Dominican Republic. Kevon Wiggins, like he did in the first game against Bahamas which the Guyanese also lost led the scoring with 15 points while Akeem Crandon contributed 10 points also pulling down 11 rebounds. Puerto Rico was led by Gianfranco Grafal who poured in 23 points. The Guyanese will close out Group play today when they oppose Mexico which defeated Bahamas 83-75; the Bahamians had beaten Guyana on day one, Wednesday, 114-63. Leading Guyana was Wiggins with 32 points, Nigel Bowen contributed 13.
