The Guyana National Rifle Association (GuyanaNRA) paid a courtesy call to Honorable Minster Dr. George Norton, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports recently. Honorary Secretary Ryan Sampson along with Fullbore Captain Mahendra Persaud, updated the new Sports Minister on the upcoming 150th Anniversary Shoot, next month. The status of the preparation of the ranges, arrival of participants and accommodation and the intensity of team training were discussed. The Minister was also informed of the planned Kaieteur Falls tour that the participants have already booked; this formed part of the Sport Tourism initiative that was pushed by the GuyanaNRA invited participating nations. The Honorable Secretary stated that this will contribute directly to the economic aspect of our countryβs tourism. Minister Norton has graciously accepted an invitation extended to him by Fullbore Captain Mahendra Persaud to be at the opening ceremony of the Championship and the presentation and dinner ceremonies. The Minister was pleased with the update and further committed to assisting with transportation for the championship. The Fullbore Team plans on testing and training with the recently arrived Hornady ammunition this Saturday and Sunday as preparations for the Championship, continues.
