Guyana NRA Recorded Shoot… Braithwaite almost flawless in victory

Lennox Braithwaite was almost flawless, dropping just two points, one each at the 600 and 1000 yards ranges in wrapping up the latest Guyana National Rifle Association (GuyanaNRA) Recorded Shoot held at the Timehri Rifle Ranges.
On another overcast and rainy day, the event which forms part of ongoing preparations for this year’s 150^th Anniversary and the West Indies Fullbore Shooting Championships, the local shooters continues to show encouraging progress.
Braithwaite toped his peers at 300 and 1000 yards ranges which included a possible at 300, while Sherwin Felicien won the 600 yards, shooting a possible. Braithwaite recorded an overall score of 118 points and 14 Vs.
Felicien was next overall with 116 points and 8Vs including his possible of 35.4v at 600 yards.
The winner of the last Recorded Shoot, Dylan Fields was third with 115 points 12Vs.

Fullbore Captain Mahendra Persaud did not participate due to a minor injury to his hand. Other shooters continue to struggle with the conditions as they strive to elevate their shooting.
Meanwhile, the Guyana NRA was contacted by the son of legendary shooter in the 1960s, Mohamed Ali. The Ali family said they will be donating a trophy to the association for the upcoming West Indies championships.
Ali won British Guiana Sportsman of the Year in 1961 and was Runner-up Sportsman in 1962.
