Havana, Cuba, Oct 20.- Donald Rabindranauth Ramotar, President of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, met on Friday with relatives of the five Cuban heroes unfairly condemned in the United States for fighting terrorism.
At the Cuban Institute for Friendship with the Peoples in this capital, the head of state took an interest in the situation of Rene Gonzalez, Fernando Gonzalez, Antonio Guerrero, Ramon Labañino and Gerardo Hernandez. The President pointed out that a lot of progress has been made to try to sensitize the international public opinion with the case of The Five, and called to continue carrying out actions in favor of that noble cause. On behalf of relatives, Magali Llort, mother of Fernando, thanked the dignitary for the support received and pointed out that the demand for justice comes from the entire Cuban people. The Guyanese head of state told the press that his visit to the island is the expression of the good relations existing between the two countries.          We have many cooperation agreements with Cuba, he said, in areas like health, education, culture and sports and I hope, he added, that my visit contributes to strengthen these bonds even more.
