Did you ever go to Geddes Grant?

At 10 years old I wrote common entrance exam and got a partial scholarship to Central High School in GT. For the next two years I lived in the city and frequented most of the stores on Water, Main, Regent and other streets. Including T. Geddes Grant.

Thomas Geddes Grant was a Canadian.

That's what you got for Christmas?  I got a Smith & Wesson 9mm.  I still use it up to this day on people I don't like.

Shoot like a BOSS!!!

So Mr. PM.  Now that I am Commander-In-Chief of the Madame Haniffa Administration, I have been thinking of establishing a military dictatorship so I can put my newly acquired shooting skills to good use.  Plus one never knows when those Venezuelans would want to cross the border and I will have to put them to their place.

Isn't Geddes Grant now owned by Neil & Massey?

Just found this on the company website: "The Group started business in Guyana in 1968 when its subsidiary, Associated Industries Limited, was incorporated.

In 1988, the Group’s four companies in Guyana were Associated Industries, Demerara Oxygen, Transportation Services and Demerara Property Investments. NM Services Limited was created during the re-structuring of the company in 2000.

Today, Neal & Massy Limited is the holding company for the Guyana Group, which comprises 6 companies: the original Associated Industries Limited, CCS Guyana Limited; Demerara Oxygen Company Limited; Geddes Grant Guyana Limited; NM Services Limited and Securicor Limited."

Wait till after Christmas to discuss this matter. We don't want to alienate KP who started this thread. Tek me advice, Madam.

Looks like most of the crew had a good time at Christmas,

I man had it tough in my lil days,my single mom [sugar estate worker] tried her best, bought toys she can afford,i used to get the black cap guns and few caps, she also bought a few apples and grapes and khajoor,i look forward for the khajoor and will coax her to give a little more than my siblings, being her eldest son was an advantage i did get some more.

Well after the hard days,at age 17 move to GT got a job and living with my cousin,i enjoyed every thing you think about, used to window shop on Water Street and Regent street, good old days,no worry about robbers and pick pockets.

What great men exist in the Indo KKK?

Btw you all must be truly upset that its increasingly difficult to tell an Indian and a black person apart.

Last minute shopping, most of the stores will be closed at 6.00pm I went to a Costco Store in Ajax, there was no line up and no crowd inside. I then went to an LCBO, there were four lines each had about 25 people, I left. In Guyana there is flood and pouring rain, but this is one holiday nothing can stop the people from celebrating, I heard yesterday the shops were packed and some of the shelves were empty.

Today, is decorating day, blowing balloons . putting up lights and streamers, and baking the Xmas cake, by this time the Old boys are having a drink with their friends.

Well, other than talking about the ills of Guyana, lets look on the bright side, I think most of us if not all of us reside out of Guyana, we can only look back to the good memories.
