Congratulations Mr President for exposing BBC hypocrisies.
BS. There is no single country that is responsible for global warming and there is no single country that can curb it. It must be a collective effort. Ali mentioning Guyana's forests is disingenuous. Compared to countries like Canada, Guyana's forests are miniscule. According to Ali's reasoning , Canada would be entitled billions in carbon credits. As an oil producing country Guyana is directly contributing to global warming. Stephen Sackur was being polite in the interview. I would like to debate Ali on global warming. Can someone please arrange it.
Guyanese President Mohammed Irfaan Ali has exposed the hypocrisy of the BBC and the western countries over the issues of climate change. The content of his interview to BBC HardTalk programme has gone viral. Rifat Jawaid, who worked with the BBC for over 12 years as a senior editor, argues that the presenter of the programme, Stephen Sackur, let himself down as a journalist. Rifat says that the latest editor of HARDtalk was problematic in many ways.

I have read the comments. This is an old story. The real hypocrisy here is that of an oil producing country arguing it is environmentally friendly. It would be best if Ali simply shut up about the matter.
I see Ali getting nasty with local reporters. Someone needs to educate him that you catch more Bears with honey than with a baseball bat. He needs to shed his crude behaviour, but then again Jagdeo is his mentor.

I just read about their dumping of heavy metals into the Berbice river. I wonder who told them that is great for their water. Cancer here we come.
