My sister Una Clarke is celebrating her 78th birthday today and her daughter Congresswoman Yvette birthday was last thursday.

Una is an icon and a trail blazer not only for women for all Caribbean people here in NY and her hard working  daughter Yvette has created a name for herself in Congress. At Una's age she is still very active in political and community affairs and I pray for God to continue to bless her and keep her safe. As for Yvette she is looking good as ever and  AS SHE MENTIONED VERY EXCITED TOBE REELECTED to the House  of Representatives to continue her work to serve the people of NY

Attended a wonderful birthday party for the two of them last night in Brooklyn. Quite a few top politicians were there  including new congressman Hakiem Jefferies and Controller John Liu who said he is considering running for Mayor of NY next year.

Chief,

Good Morning.

I did not know that muslims are allowed to marry christians? Wow!!! Just giving you some Sunday morning crap.

FM

Skeldonman  I will  extend some love to you this Sunday morning.

Now had you mix with a diverse crowd you will know how the word 'sister' is used.

Una Clarke is from Jamaica and was the first Carribean American woman to be elected as  NY City council member. Her daughter followed in her footsteps as NY City council member and some six years ago was elected to Congress.

 Vish,

ONLY GOD KNOW WHAT IS IN OUR HEART!!

The reason for my post is  to wish these two wonderful decent  human beings God's choicest blessings.I have known Una for the past 25 years and we are very very close. We have worked and  traveled together for quite some time. If you can remember whet Yvette decided to run for Congress 6 years ago I started a thread here on GNI  encouraging folks to support her.

Today at this rip age of 78 Una is alive and kicking like any youth and continues to work to make this world a better place, that's the reason for my post to highlight the work of this remarkable sister.

Chief,

I mix with Guyanese and Americans. My college room mate was a white American male. We converted him to Guyanese. He speaks and understands Guyanese very well. He preferred curry over hamburger. He use to tell the white girls in college that his father was the owner of Skeldon factory. I never had a negro friend and never intermingled with negroes. I do have have a diverse crowd of neighbors: Vietnam, China, Hawaii, Guyana and of course America. I do not have any ill feelings about American negroes; just Guyanese negroes(the PNC crowd).

Cham,

We grew up in Skeldon in the 50's and 60's. There was a small population of Negroes who kept to themselves. I remember in my classes in primary school, there were about 2 - 3 negores in each of my classes. The boys always wanted to challenge you to a fight. In high school there were about  4-5. Sorry I did not have any bruddas or sistas. That's life. I did not have sheltered life. We were dirt poor. A family of 9 living in a 2 bedroom house. Both parents worked at the sugar plantation. Father was an alcoholic, almost an absent parent. I was smart enough to attend a free high school.

If you are educated, you are an educated idiot. If you are not educated, you are a moron. Why you idiot, would you want to befriend a bunch of kids who want to challenge you everyday to fight? We kept the peace; that's all that mattered. Could you say the same; or you are unable to comprehend the logic? Continue to stick your head deep down in your kakahole and take deep breaths.

I grew up experiencing 6 years of the PNC racism towards the Indians. The negroes at that time behaved like god had just sent them the messiah.
