There are no Maya prophecies. What happen was that the Mayan one day got tired of carving the calendar in stone and abandoned the task when they were carving 2012... I guess at this point the Mayan realised that it didn't make sense to write all years in stone when you can just write the calendar for one year and use for the next. I guess if we extrapolate that to our time it will mean that this year humanity will realise how stupid the human race is.
